<fidothe> Hey all. I’m the maintainer of a gem that wraps a Java library (https://github.com/fidothe/saxon-xslt). I ship with the Jars for Saxon vendored, but Saxon also has a commercial version with separate Jars.
<fidothe> I just released a version that lets you specify a separate place to get the Jars from, but I realise I also need to allow for Saxon already being on the classpath. If anyone has opinions on how to do this kind of thing sanely and sagely, I’d love to hear them. My attempt is here: https://github.com/fidothe/saxon-xslt/blob/91e65f2ef2b82e4f9334c94a3a52b34c0748ecc1/lib/saxon/loader.rb#L51-L72
